Mc Caul's Bar - Cavan

McCauls friendly Irish pub is the essence of old meeting new. With the widest range of Irish Whiskeys in Cavan and also the biggest outside beer garden in town this place should not be missed. Recently celebrating their 50th year in business, it is also the oldest family run pub in Cavan. Located on the wonderful quaint Bridge Street, the red and gold exterior  along with its stained glass windows will draw you straight in.

Once inside, get ready to meet some wonderful characters, from the regular locals who enjoy coming into a friendly cosy atmosphere to enjoy a few quiet drinks to Declan the owner. Make sure to ask Declan about chocolate and whiskey and you could just be in for a sensational surprise! If you happen to be anywhere near Cavan when there is an international rugby match on, then McCaul's is the one and only pub to be in, as this is where all the locals go to enjoy the match on a big screen.

They offer a fantastic Cheese and Whiskey pairing, using only locally sourced artisan cheeses. Declan is a passionate, proud, born and bred Cavan man so make sure to ask him about the 365 lakes in the district (yes one for every day of the year).

From the moment you walk into this friendly traditional pub you know you’re in for a treat. Whether you want to enjoy delicious local cheese combined with smooth heart-warming Irish whiskey by their open fire or a drink under the stars in their open beer garden McCauls is the place for you.
