Mount Juliet Conrad Hotel & The Tetrarch Bar - Kilkenny

Sprawling countryside, lush gardens, luxurious accommodation, award-winning dining and of course - a great whiskey bar - are just some of the pleasures awaiting guests who pass through the gates of Mount Juliet Conrad.  Entering the 1,500 acre demesne, one of Europe’s most elite resorts, feels a little like entering into a different world.

Located 75 miles south of Dublin, in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, the Mount Juliet Conrad has a distinctive personality that blends tradition and history with  exceptional style and personalised service. Its accommodation is luxurious and diverse.  Guests may choose between the Georgian elegance of Mount Juliet House, the informal atmosphere of the Club Rooms in the Hunters Yard, the original stable yard, or the spacious Rose Garden Lodges, ideal for longer stays and families.

Mount Juliet is proud to offer their guests an extensive Irish whiskey selection in both the Tetrarch Bar in the main House and the President's Bar in the Hunter’s Yard.  Fabrice, their Food & Beverage Manager, has worked hard in the last few years on developing his whiskey range and ensuring his staff are well versed in their whiskey knowledge.  They offer a full range of classic Irish malts, pot still whiskeys and premium blends and fans of Midleton Very Rare, or those who fancy themselves as a “whiskey nose”, should ask for the Midleton Double, i.e. a glass each of two separate vintages of Midleton Very Rare.  The skill lies in detecting the subtle differences inherent to each different vintage, while enjoying these whiskeys crafted by Midleton’s Master Distiller, Barry Crockett. The excellent whiskey menu in Mount Juliet Conrad, the friendly and knowledgeable staff and the luxurious relaxed surroundings of the Estate, make it a perfect place to enjoy a glass or two of some of Ireland’s finest whiskeys.

The culinary experience is equally memorable from the sophisticated surroundings of the 2 AA rosette Lady Helen Dining Room, with its panoramic views over the River Nore, to the informal atmosphere of the 1 AA rosette Kendals Restaurant in the Hunters Yard.

The Mount Juliet Conrad offers a wide range of leisure activities. Guests can relax in the restful surroundings of its spa and leisure centre complete with heated pool and fully equipped gymnasium.  Horse-riding, golf, clay target shooting and archery, rod and line fishing, tennis, cycling, and croquet are just some of the outdoor leisure options available, but it is the 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, and which has hosted three Irish Open Championships, for which Mount Juliet Conrad is most famous.  Some of the world’s best golfers, including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Padraig Harrington have played there and enjoyed the luxurious unobtrusive hospitality of the Mount Juliet Conrad Estate.
