27 July 2009 - Tullamore Dew launch new 10 Year Old Single Malt |
|
Tullamore Dew have just launched a new 10 Year Old Single Malt. Initially matured in ex-bourbon casks, it is then finised in Sherry, Port and Madeira casks, making it the only Irish whiskey on the market matured in four different types of casks. This gives this 10 Year Old Single Malt depth and intensity, both on the nose and the palate, with notes such as spicy oranges and prunes coming to the fore. This 10 Year Old malt moves away from Tullamore Dew's classic style of round, mellow and gentle whiskeys, and it is likely to appeal to seasoned Single Malt drinkers. Limited to 300 x 6 bottle cases for 2009, it will only be available in Duty Free shops in Ireland and in the Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, before being rolled out to other outlets and markets for 2010. Tullamore Dew now have two 10 Year Old editions, the other being the 10 Year Old blend launched in 2008, which is essentially available in the U.S., Ireland and Duty Free.
